    Cleveland Area Friends: Next Friday, August 11th, Kari's high school graduating class is hosting a fundraiser in Piper's honor. See details below. All proceeds will be donated to Ewing's Sarcoma research. All raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

    Artist of the Month - Rebecca Rae Schmidt and Guest Artist & Author Carolyn
    Frankel join forces to share their talent

    Gallery Opening Tuesday, June 13 - 10 am to noon.

    A Special Welcome to, among others, collectors, painters, book clubs and Woman Bible study groups.

    Enjoy Coffee with Creative Space Artist of the Month, painter Rebecca Rae Schmidt featuring alcohol ink originals and prints of her work. Rebecca was a participant in our Creative Women Today Gallery show this past spring.

    Joining Rebecca is Artist Carolyn Frankel, author of the the book, "Be Like Rachel, Lessons of Character from Women of the Bible". Meet the author and get a signed copy. Carolyn will also be offering illustrated prints from the book & showcasing other paintings from her portfolio for sale. Carolyn was last seen here in the Sunflower Love Gallery show this past Fall for Prayers From Maria.

    Friday, June 16 - 6:30 pm to 9 pm; Public reception. Meet and greet the artists;

    Carolyn Frankel will be showcasing her mixed media art original art and prints. and signing her new book "Be Like Rachel". Painter, Rebecca Rae Schmidt will be showcasing select Alcohol Ink Originals and prints of her work.

    Tuesday, June 20 1 pm - 3:00 pm; Special Mixed Media painting workshop. Author & Artist Carolyn Frankel will demonstrate and teach her process and technique . This is a fun class. You don't need to be an artist and will complete a 16 x 20 mixed media painting. Bring a painting shirt and magazine or newspaper ads or pictures with images and words which will be used in your creation. Feel free to bring snacks and a beverage (Fee is $45 with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 24 students)

    This is a new experience for painters to let the ink create for you. Explore this fun medium with Rebecca. She will help you develop your painting technique with Alcohol Ink. Great class for non-painters where you will complete a 10 x 14 painting. Bring a paint shirt and feel free to bring snacks and beverage. (Fee is $45 with a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 students)

    Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is going to be available for any child in Lorain County beginning in July of this year.  The DPIL sends any child who signs up a book every month from the time they are born until they go to school, free of cost.

    Dinosaurs ROCK, July 3-7(no 7/4): Travel back in time to the days of T-rex and visit dinosaur bones at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. How do fossils form in the first place? Let’s explore the world of rocks and minerals, and pan for some gold!

    Oceanography, July 10-14: Exploring under the sea is not just for mermaids. This week, we will visit the ocean depths, walk under sharks and, if you are lucky, touch a sting ray. But did you know that, right here in Avon Lake, we are connected to the ocean.

    Backyard Safari, July 17-21: Future zookeepers unite during this wild week! First, we will visit the lions of Africa and the tigers of Asia at our own Cleveland Zoo. Then, let’s learn about the animals and plants in our own backyard.
